BRCS alumni are part of the fabric and heritage of Boca Christian. We want Boca Christian to be a place which empowers current and former students to light their world for Jesus Christ. You are always welcome to come back and visit as we would love to keep in touch. Keep us up-to-date through email, phone calls, impromptu visits, and attending alumni reunions.
Class of 2012
After graduating from Boca Christian a whopping 10 years ago in 2012, I studied voice at Palm Beach Atlantic University and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music. I pursued my Master’s degree at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, earning my M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance in 2019. Since then, I have been establishing myself as a vocal artist and teacher of singing, and have been blessed with incredible opportunities in South Florida and beyond.
My parents have always been my biggest encouragers and supporters. Throughout my time at Boca Christian, they attended every performance, volunteered their time during the annual school musical, and encouraged me in my strengths instead of dwelling on my weaknesses (like math). I am so grateful that they recognized my potential and encouraged me to invest in my talent and passion. If it wasn’t for their support, patience, and advocacy during my high school years, I would not be where I am today.
It was at Boca Christian that I met some of the most influential people in my life as a musician. My MS and HS choir teacher, Joy Wilson Poole, gave me an incredible foundation in musicianship and choral singing, which I now do professionally. Furthermore, she has encouraged me every step of the way in my professional journey and remains a dear friend. The high school musicals also played a large role in my decision to pursue music and theater. Joni Blankenship Wiersum was an inspiration to me in the way she directed the musicals, and she entrusted me with roles that confirmed to me that this is what I wanted to do. Finally, during my junior year, Emily Langford Johnson was brought in to help our cast with the Scottish brogue for our production of Brigadoon. Later on, Emily became my voice teacher, and is now a close friend and a colleague with whom I regularly sing at our church, Bethesda by the Sea.
We are excited to invite our BC Alums to be our complimentary guests at one of our Boca Christian tables at the CityLead Boca Business Lunch. It is a fantastic place to network with other business people, have a great meal, and hear an inspiring message by Pastor Bill Mitchell. If you would like to attend any given month (Sep-May), please contact Bill Hood to check availability.
