A Message from Mrs. Stapleton

Posted March 18, 2020

Dear Boca Christian Families –

As many of you may have already heard, the Florida Department of Education has closed all public and private schools through April 15th. Anticipating this possibility, we were prepared with a distance learning plan that began for our PreK3 through Grade 8 yesterday, March 17th-March 20th, with an additional week of material, assignments, and instructions as needed. Additionally, our high school students, who were scheduled for missions service this week, were instructed to bring their Chromebooks, textbooks and materials home with them in anticipation of distance learning beginning for them on March 30th. During this week’s early closure, our teachers have been preparing additional lessons, meeting virtually with classes, creating YouTube videos of lesson content, and seeking additional resources to enrich the learning experience for our students while they are away from the traditional classroom. They will continue to work diligently to meet the needs of their students and to answer any questions you may have. Please reach out to your teacher(s) via email if you have any questions.

Unfortunately, our extended closing as well as the CDC guidelines of cancelling gatherings of more than 10 people, mandates that all athletic practices, competitions, field trips, and any other extra-curricular activities be cancelled during this time period. Opportunities to reschedule are unable to be addressed at this time.

This continues to be a very fluid situation which we are monitoring daily. As new information is communicated, we will communicate with you; however, we do understand that you may have a particular question that has not been addressed. For this reason, we have created an email address for your questions, bcquestions@bocachristian.org.  Your question will be directed to the correct personnel and be answered as quickly as possible. Please understand that we are operating on reduced office staffing under limited hours, so your answer may not be immediate.

Above all else, I pray that you continue to fix your eyes firmly on the one who calms the storm, Jesus Christ. He is our source of peace.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.2 Thessalonians 3:16
