A unique feature of Boca Christian has been the annual theme, which sets the spiritual direction of the school year. Past themes have dealt with America, creativity, excellence, diligence, truth, the environment, time, kindness, new beginnings, priorities, courage, stewardship, challenge, transformation, and strength.
I have been reading A.W. Tozer’s book, The Knowledge of the Holy: the Attributes of God: Their Meaning in the Christian Life. As I read the book, I was confronted with the “Incomprehensible God” and His infinite attributes which result in our standing speechless and in awe of our Almighty God. One of God’s attributes and the focus of one of the chapters in the book is faithfulness. Psalm 117:2 points out that God’s faithfulness endures forever. In a time of uncertainty in our world, we can take comfort and strength in the faithfulness of God.
Our theme for the 2011-2012 school year is:
Tozer gives us several thoughts to flesh out the implication of a faithful God.
- We enjoy a sense of rest in God’s faithful presence in our life’s journey.
- There is hope in the confidence that a faithful God honors His promises.
- We have peace and assurance about life after death.
- His faithfulness is a healing prescription for addressing temptation, anxiousness, fearfulness, and discouragement.
God is faithful and He is calling this generation to follow Him in faithfulness. This is our prayer for our school family and community for 2011-2012.
