Scholar Athletes are juniors and seniors who play at least one varsity sport and have a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Barnabas Award Criteria

1. One who encourages other members of the team, even when they are doing poorly.

2. One who recognizes achievement and is able to compliment or encourage opponents.

3. One who is faithful in attendance at practices and games.

4. One who is attentive and involved in the game whether playing or sitting on the bench.

Most Improved Player Criteria

1. A player who is faithful, available, and teachable.
Faithful: in participation in practices and games.
Available: open to constructive criticism and willing to be used in any capacity needed.

2. One who displays Christian character (Christ-like attitude).

3. A player who shows good sportsmanship (maturely handles bad calls of the official).

4. A player who has a winning spirit (a desire to win, but also knows how to be gracious in defeat.

5. One who is a team player and is not just out for personal gratification.


Most Valuable Player Criteria

1. One who is a valuable player to the team/excellent athlete.

2. One who displays Christian character (Christ-like attitude).

3. A player who shows good sportsmanship (maturely handles bad calls of an official).

4. A player who was not on academic or conduct probation during the season.

5. A player who has a winning spirit (desire to win, but also knows how to be gracious in defeat.

6. One who is a team player and is not just out for personal gratification.

7. One who is a player who is attentive, respectful, and obedient to the coach.


Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Guidelines

1. One who is a valuable player to the team/excellent athlete.

2. One who displays Christian character (Christ-like attitude).

3. One who encourages other members of the team, even when they are doing poorly.

4. One who shows good sportsmanship (maturely handles bad calls of an official).

5. One who has a winning spirit (desire to win, but also knows how to be gracious in defeat.

6. The student must not have been on conduct probation at any point during the year. In the case of a tie decision, the edge can be given to a student with better conduct in the classroom. A true sportsman on and off the field.

7. One who is a team player and is not just out for personal gratification.

8. One who is a student who is attentive, respectful, and obedient to the coach.
