Library Skills |
| A library research skills program is offered to middle school students. The goal of Library Skills is to teach students how to find information and use various reference sources, such as the almanac, atlas, encyclopedia, thesaurus, dictionary, Bartlett's Quotations, Famous First Facts, CD-ROM programs, etc. |

Book Fair |
The book fair is held during the week after Thanksgiving for four days, Tuesday through Friday. A wide selection of Christian books and materials is available through Sonshine Harbor. To advertise the book fair, a poster contest is held and winners may select books from the fair. The media center receives 25% of the profits. |
Birthday Book Club
A book is a gift that you can open again and again! |
Parents, students, grandparents, or others may select books for the media center to honor a birthday or other special occasion. A selection of books is available in the media center. Books receive a special name plate and the student is the first borrower of the book. Students enjoy "visiting" books they have presented to the media center.

Fact Finders |

Fact Finders is a research game.
The students
who find the most answers in a specified time
period qualify
for the playoffs. Prizes are awarded to the team
who finishes first. Click here for winners. |

Read and Recycle
Parents may donate books their children have outgrown to the media center. The Read and Recycle cart is available outside the library entrance. Books may be purchased for $.10 - $1.00. |

Students enjoy helping to process books, reading to younger children, stamping
books with the date due, helping with laminating,
using the Ellison machine, and working in the
media center when they are Librarian for the
Day (an auction item). |
