Boca Christian
Elementary Grades 3-5

The BRCS Elementary Program places a strong emphasis on mastery and application of basic skills while also providing enrichment and remedial activities to help each child experience success.  Additionally, the elementary program offers many activities beyond the basics to minister to the whole child such as music, art, physical education, and library skills.  Each subject is taught from a Christian perspective with special times set aside for Bible instruction and chapel.

Reading Program

An emphasis is placed on reading because research shows that the more students read, the higher their achievement. The reading program is supplemented with Scholastic Reading Counts, a reading comprehension software program for grades 1-5. If a student reads a book on the Scholastic Reading Counts list and successfully completes the computer test (which must be taken at the school), then parents need not ask the comprehension questions about the book.

Environmental Club The Environmental Club is an organization for elementary students which seeks to create an appreciation and respect for the environment.  The club meets after school.   Activities include planting a garden, assisting the children's Science Museum, helping with Creation Day, and taking an environmental field trip.  Students have also been instrumental in helping BRCS to receive recognition as a Green School of Quality.

Book report costumes

Classes have art once a week in the art room. As part of their book report on a biography, fourth graders dress up as the main character.

Fifth graders participate in an egg drop contest.
